KEVIN V. HUNT
Kevin is an author, blogger, camp director and Scouting Veteran
Kevin V. Hunt joined the Boy Scouting Program as a Cub Scout at age 8 and says that he never got out of the Scouting program. As a youth, he earned his Eagle Scout Award with four palms beyond the Eagle. He attended college at Brigham Young University and earned a B.S. degree in Youth Leadership (Boy Scout Program Administration).
For seven years, Kevin was a professional Scouter and very much enjoyed his association with the Scouting volunteers. He was a Camp Director at various summer camps. He helped to pioneer the Varsity Scouting program when it was a pilot program. Over the years, he has served proactively on various Scouting committees, was Cubmaster for seven years (in 5 packs), an Assistant Scoutmaster for numerous new-Scout patrols, Varsity Scout Coach, Venturing Adviser and a member of various district and council training committees. He is a 3-bead Woodbadger. He is a recipient of the Silver Beaver Award. Though still “young”, Kevin is a 50-year Scouting veteran.
Kevin is the author of numerous children’s books and many Scouting and general youth leadership books. He has maintained a personal daily journal for 40+ years and much of the material for his books comes from personal experiences as detailed in the journal volumes.
Kevin enjoys writing books, outdoor cooking, family activities, service to others, parties for friends, family history, camping and woodworking. He and his family and friends enjoy the backyard “cabin” and BBQ ramada that the family created together.
Kevin and his wife Lou live in Mesa, Arizona and are the parents of 9 children - 6 daughters and 3 sons. They have 31 grandchildren. All of the sons are Eagle Scouts with three palms. Four sons-in-law are also Eagle Scouts.
